Köln # January 2002

Log book:
We love those new navigation systems for cars!
We rented a BMW, drive to Köln with 220 km/h
and a sweet female voice leads us to our
destination - which was so far out of town, we
would never have made it without it. There, the
cream of international furniture stars expected
us and once again we draw our soul in the air
and sparkler dust in our lungs. Oh yes, it was
dark, too. |

Berlin # April 2002
Log book:
Now and then we thought we were hired to be
social workers. The closeness to people was
rather refreshing. "Can I have one for free? Can I
have another one? Can I have one with her and
for free? Can you draw me with my dog? Can you
draw my dog? Can you draw this/that/him/her? -
Oh, I can do that as well, y'know..."
The up to date Pyrography-Video shows parts of
this event.

April 2002
Log book:
For the first time we draw under the surface of the earth.
An old miner drives us to a lake down there through
the mines that stretch over 2000 km in total. After that we
draw and chew the new Wrigley's Xcite. It is warm down
there, for a short moment we consider renting one of the
tunnels as atelier.

23. June 2002

Log book:
Question: Do you think while drawing? Do you
talk to
yourself like "ooohh.. I still have to do that ear! and
now the collar-boooone... yes!... a tear in the eye...
oop, that nearly burned through... and here...!"?
Answer: Well, no. Ok, sometimes. not often, though.
and if it happens it usually is one of the following:
I still need to that ear/eye (forgetting an eye in a
portrait is not a good thing).
what jerk was doing that comment?
a break/beer/more light would be good...

03. October 2002

Log book:
Much ado about not so much really, more than
half a million people crammed into the Unter den
Linden, all of them expecting more than was to be
seen. Re-Start of the action-event "ugly portraits for
beautiful people", but the two tv-commentators
did somehow not want a portrait for free anymore.
Anyway, disappointment does only make you
tougher, isn't it?

some day October 2002
Log book:
A very special art event, this Berlin art
fair.
Of course, Zeichner is here, too. Somehow,
we did not get discovered by the curator for
the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, so we
postpone our exhibition there one more time.

 |
19./20. October 2002

Log book:
All attempts to burn faces in Beverly Hills,
in Venice,
and other areas are condemned to a short life as
security is always so kind to point out that a permit is
needed. Sorry to all those who could not get a
portrait - we will be back.

 |
8./9. November 2002

Log book:
Garant-Möbel, a furniture store, opens its doors to
the public. The guests crowd between the magnificent
pieces to watch some pyrography. We do think about
making a pattern for sofa cushions. |
